PCANews - The concept of evil is receiving a great deal of media attention these days, and some Christians are taking the opportunity to discuss its cause and solution. While various news reports may suggest evil is a product of childhood experiences or biological problems, most Christians believe it is really a "heart" issue. Dr. Norman Geisler of Southern Evangelical Seminary tells Family News in Focus, the very fact that even the world has a "hierarchy of evil" shows that there is a graduation of sin and that "all sins are not created equal." Dr. Dominic Aquila of New Geneva Seminary says evil is a result of man's rebellion against God. Aquila, noting that Jesus spoke about the need of changing from the inside out, says an evil heart "can only be transformed by the grace and mercy of God." According to Aquila, evil cannot be properly discussed without including the spiritual dimension. --Family News in Focus
